More than a century ago, the Pennsylvania School Boards Association was created for the purpose of informing school directors on educational issues and legislative decisions affecting schools. Although the educational landscape has changed significantly over time, our commitment to the highest ideals of local lay leadership for the public schools of the commonwealth has not wavered. 2020 marks PSBA’s 125th year of supporting and equipping school leaders for public service. We are proud of our rich history as the first school boards association in the nation and excited about our vision for the future.
PSBA empowers school boards to succeed by providing vital tools, superior training and powerful advocacy. The association represents more than 4,500 locally elected school directors who dedicate themselves to providing the best education for every child. Together, we promote high quality, locally driven public education for all Pennsylvania students.
